A low pressure area (LPA) entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
As of 2 a.m. the weather disturbance identified as LPA 08f was estimated to be located at 1,075 kilometers east of Northern Luzon.
It has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, PAGASA said.
At 3 a.m., the LPA was estimated to be located 1,040 km east of Northern Luzon.
"Itong low pressure area ay wala pang direktang epekto sa ating lagay ng panahon," PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said during the agency's Public Weather Forecast.
