Three tropical cyclones are being monitored around the Philippines, two of them outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
According to Amor Larosa’s report on “24 Oras,” the three cyclones don’t have any direct effect on the country, but weather disturbances like these cause the Habagat, or Southwest Monsoon, to prevail, resulting in heavy rains.
These cyclones are Tropical Depression Neneng, which is inside the PAR; Tropical Storm Saudel; and the tropical depression 880 kms west of extreme Northern Luzon.
The heavy monsoon rains may continue until the weekend or even next week. There will be days when there will be light rain before again becoming stronger.
The tropical storm with the international name Saudel is 3,000 kms east of Northeastern Mindanao. It is expected to become even stronger in the coming days because of the time it is at sea.
