Two Low Pressure Areas (LPAs) are being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), state weather bureau PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.
As of 2 p.m., LPA 08e was estimated at 2,395 km east-northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon and is unlikely to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, during the same period, LPA 08f was located at 1,385 km east of Central Luzon. PAGASA said it has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
Habagat over Luzon Visayas
The Southwest Monsoon, or Habagat, is expected to drench Luzon and the western section of Visayas on Monday, August 17, 2026, according to PAGASA’s 4 p.m. weather bulletin.
The Habagat is expected to bring occasional rains over Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, and Bataan.
