August 2026 will bring several smartphone launches to India, covering affordable models, premium mid-range devices and flagship foldables. Poco, Xiaomi and Google have confirmed launch events, while Vivo and iQOO are expected to introduce new phones during the month.
Buyers can expect bigger batteries to remain a major theme, with multiple upcoming models tipped to offer capacities of 7,000mAh or more.
Poco M8 Power arrives on August 4
Poco will launch the M8 Power in India on August 4. The company has confirmed an 8,000mAh battery, AMOLED display and 50-megapixel primary camera.
The phone will be available through Flipkart and is expected to target buyers seeking long battery life without entering the premium segment. Reports suggest it could also offer a 120Hz display and Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor, although Poco has not confirmed these specifications.
Redmi Note 17 follows on August 6
Xiaomi has scheduled the Redmi Note 17 India launch for August 6. The company is promoting the device as its “mAhster Edition”, highlighting its 8,000mAh battery.
The phone is expected to feature a 7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset and a 50-megapixel rear camera. Final prices and storage variants will be announced at launch.
Vivo S2 could mark a series comeback
Vivo is expected to reintroduce its S series in India with the Vivo S2, reportedly on August 6. The company has teased the phone’s rear design but has not disclosed its full specifications.
Leaks point to a 6.59-inch OLED display, a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilisation and a 7,000mAh battery supporting 80W charging. The phone is expected to compete in the premium mid-range market.
Google Pixel 11 series launches on August 12
Google will unveil the Pixel 11 series at its Made by Google event on August 12. The expected lineup includes the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold.
The phones are tipped to use Google’s new Tensor G6 processor alongside updated cameras and deeper Gemini integration. Indian pricing and availability should be confirmed during the event.
The iQOO Z11, Vivo V80 series, Samsung Galaxy S26 FE and Infinix Hot 70 Pro are also linked to August launches, but their India release dates remain unconfirmed.
