Motorola Edge 70 Neo: Motorola’s next compact Edge has shown up in a full set of promotional renders, and the most legible thing in them is a number stamped on the camera island: 200MP. Everything else about the Edge 70 Neo remains unconfirmed, including the chipset, the battery, the price and the launch date.
What The Renders Show
The images, first published by The Mac Observer and since picked up across the leak circuit, show the phone front and back in four finishes: pink, dark green, light green and light blue. All four wear a matte frame, and the pink unit carries a different rear texture to the other three. Motorola has not confirmed the names, though its long-running Pantone partnership makes plain descriptors unlikely on the box.
Round the back sits a raised square camera island with rounded corners, holding three lenses plus a circular element carrying the 200MP marking. The batwing logo sits centred on the rear panel. It is standard 2026 Motorola design language, close enough to the regular Edge 70 that the family resemblance is obvious.
Coverage of this leak has split on the display. Some reports describe it as flat with slim bezels. GSMArena, Gizmochina and Notebookcheck all read the same renders as curved, but at a steep enough angle that the phone appears considerably flatter than earlier Neo models.
That reading is the more likely one, since every other Edge 70 device uses a curved panel. Expect something that looks flat in the hand without actually being flat.
Notebookcheck flagged something the other write-ups skipped: the front element on one of the three lenses is very small, which on Motorola mid-rangers usually signals a decorative module rather than a working camera. If that holds, the real configuration is two cameras and a dummy, which is a common enough trick but not what the render implies at a glance.
The megapixel figure deserves the same caution. A 200MP sensor in a mid-range phone is generally bottlenecked by the lens stack and the image signal processor sitting behind it. More pixels on a small sensor can mean noisier shadows and larger files rather than better photographs. Motorola has not said which sensor this is.
Where It Sits In The Range
Neo models are Motorola’s compact option. The Edge 50 Neo and Edge 60 Neo both ran roughly 6.36-inch displays, and this one is expected to follow suit.
The Edge 70 Neo name first surfaced through Motorola’s own Android 17 beta programme, when a Lenovo forum post from a Moto agent called for testers on a device the company had never announced. Motorola has since teased the phone directly, so this is no longer a pure leak, just an unannounced one.
Earlier reporting has linked the Neo to the Motorola Edge 2026 sold in North America, which runs a MediaTek Dimensity chip. The 200MP branding in these renders suggests the two may not share a camera system.
The Edge 70 line has expanded quickly. The standard Edge 70 arrived in India in December 2025, followed by the Edge 70 Fusion and Fusion+ in March 2026, the Edge 70 Pro in April, the Pro+ in June and the Edge 70 Max in July. The Fusion+ skipped India.
