Rockstar Games could share more Grand Theft Auto 6 footage in August, according to industry insider NateTheHate. The claim has prompted speculation that GTA 6 Trailer 3 or the game’s first dedicated gameplay showcase may be approaching.
The insider did not specifically confirm another trailer or gameplay presentation. Rockstar and parent company Take-Two Interactive have also not announced plans for a GTA 6 reveal in August.
Insider expects more GTA 6 material in August
The speculation began after NateTheHate responded to a user asking when Rockstar could release the next GTA 6 trailer. The insider said he expected to see “a fair bit” of GTA 6 during the following month, referring to August 2026.
The statement does not establish what Rockstar could show. The new material may include another trailer, gameplay footage, screenshots, character details or information about the game’s world.
Rockstar released GTA 6 Trailer 2 in May 2025. The video offered a closer look at protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, along with several characters and locations across the fictional state of Leonida.
The developer has yet to release a dedicated gameplay presentation explaining the game’s missions, combat, driving or open-world systems.
Rockstar website activity fuels speculation
Recent changes detected on Rockstar’s GTA 6 website have added to expectations of another announcement. Members of the GTA community reported that the website received several backend updates within a short period.
Some of the changes reportedly involved performance improvements and the preloading of Rockstar’s web fonts. These technical updates do not confirm that a trailer or gameplay reveal is being prepared.
Similar website activity has preceded GTA 6 announcements in the past, which is why the latest changes have attracted attention. However, routine maintenance can also result in repeated updates without any new content being published.
Rockstar has not commented on the website changes or linked them to an upcoming announcement.
Take-Two earnings call is scheduled for August 7
Take-Two Interactive is scheduled to report its first-quarter fiscal 2027 results on August 7. The company could provide an update on GTA 6 during the accompanying earnings call.
Take-Two’s financial briefings have previously included updates about the game’s release schedule and expected commercial performance. However, Rockstar generally announces trailers and other major promotional material through its own channels.
The earnings call may provide information about the company’s launch preparations or financial expectations for GTA 6. There is no confirmation that new footage will be shown during or before the event.
GTA 6 preorders are already available
Rockstar opened GTA 6 preorders in June through the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Rockstar Store and selected retailers. Availability and bonuses can vary by country and platform.
The physical edition contains a code that can be redeemed for a digital download instead of a game disc. Rockstar says this approach will allow buyers to preload the game before launch.
New screenshots and promotional material were also released as part of the preorder campaign. The images revealed additional vehicles, clothing, weapons, locations and supporting characters.
GTA 6 release date and platforms
Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not announced a PC release date.
The game follows Jason and Lucia as they become involved in a criminal conspiracy across Leonida, Rockstar’s fictional version of Florida. Vice City will return as one of the main locations.
With less than four months remaining before launch, Rockstar is expected to increase promotional activity around the game. However, the reported August reveal remains speculative until the developer announces its plans.
