Work-life balance has become one of the biggest topics of conversation in Indian workplaces in recent times, with younger employees, particularly Gen Z, drawing clear lines between their work and personal time. Amid such conversations, a Delhi-based lawyer’s exchange with an intern has caught the attention of social media users.
In an X post, the lawyer wrote that she had asked an intern to reach the court by 9 AM to handle some work. However, he told her that he would not be able to make it because he had to go to the gym at that time. He eventually agreed to take up the task as a “one-time exception.”
“Told an intern to reach Court by 9 AM to manage some work. He said that won’t be possible, as he has to go to the gym and agreed to do it as a one-time exception,” she wrote. “At this point, I’m not sure if I’m his senior, his junior, or his personal assistant. Can’t normalise this.”
