The National Testing Agency (NTA) has said that fresh examination for the English, Commerce and Sociology papers of UGC-NET June 2026 would be conducted as part of a series of corrective measures after an expert committee found multiple errors and inconsistencies in the question papers.
As per sources, the re-test has been announced under the corrective measures being implemented by the NTA following the review of complaints raised by candidates. The expert committee had flagged factual and typographical errors, translation mistakes, issues with wording, missing names of scholars, garbled book titles, grammatical and numerical errors, unclear answer options and repetition of questions or options.
As part of the corrective measures, the NTA is also reviewing and strengthening its internal processes and protocols at different stages of question paper preparation, including setting, moderating, translating and composing the papers.
