A voice note allegedly sent by a 32-year-old civil engineer to his mother shortly before his death has emerged as a key focus of the investigation into the deaths of a couple at their rented home in Bengaluru’s Rajarajeshwari Nagar.
Sumant Jain and his wife Padmavathi, 29, were found dead inside their apartment on Friday afternoon. Jain was found hanging from a ceiling fan, while Padmavathi was found lying dead inside the house. Police sources said that Jain allegedly assaulted Padmavathi and suffocated her with a pillow during the altercation.
Marital Dispute Led To Deaths?
Police said the couple had a dispute on the night of August 13. At around 1.30 am on Thursday, Jain allegedly sent a WhatsApp voice message to his mother, in which he spoke about his intention to die and asked her to collect valuables from his house and take care of his finances.
