A teenager from Madhya Pradesh travelled nearly 900 km to Mumbai after deciding to pursue his dream of becoming an actor, only to be found wandering alone at Film City in Goregaon.
The 16-year-old boy from Chhindwara district had been reported missing by his family after he left home on Thursday. Police later traced him to Mumbai, where he told them that he had come to the city hoping to get an opportunity to act in the popular television show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC).
Boy Leaves Home Without Telling Family
According to the police, the teenager left his house in Chhindwara on Thursday afternoon. He reportedly told his family that he was going to school.
Instead, he reached Chhindwara railway station and boarded a train to Nagpur. From there, he took another train to Mumbai.
The boy arrived at Goregaon railway station the following morning, police said. He then walked towards Film City, apparently hoping to find an opportunity to enter the entertainment industry.
Found Wandering At Film City
The teenager was spotted wandering unattended inside the Film City area in Goregaon. After receiving information about him, a police mobile unit reached the spot and took him to the Aarey police station.
During questioning, the boy told officers that he was a student from Chhindwara and had travelled to Mumbai because he wanted to pursue acting.
He reportedly said that he particularly wanted to act in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, one of India’s longest-running television comedies.
The police subsequently contacted his family and began the process of reuniting the teenager with them.
