A man killed his two daughters at a hotel near Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru and later attempted suicide, police said.
The accused, identified as Imran from Nagawara, had reportedly booked a room on the fourth floor of a reputed hotel near the airport. He later brought his two daughters to the hotel, where the incident took place.
Two Daughters Found Dead
The deceased children have been identified as 5-year-old Sheikh Zehra and 10-year-old Sheikh Zoya.
According to preliminary information, Imran allegedly hanged his two daughters inside the hotel room before attempting to take his own life. He survived the suicide attempt and was admitted to a private hospital for treatment.
Police Suspect Family Dispute
Police suspect that Imran may have taken the extreme step after becoming suspicious of his wife. The exact circumstances and motive behind the incident are being investigated.
Imran had written a death note before attempting suicide. Police are examining the note as part of their investigation and are trying to establish the sequence of events leading up to the incident.
Bodies Sent For Post-Mortem
KIA Airport police visited the hotel and conducted an inspection of the room. The bodies of the two children have been shifted to Ambedkar Hospital for post-mortem examination, which is scheduled to be conducted tomorrow.
DCP Mithun Kumar also inspected the hotel room where the incident took place and gathered preliminary information from the spot. Police are continuing their investigation into the deaths and the circumstances surrounding Imran’s suicide attempt.
