The National Grid Power Corporation (NGCP) has announced that the Yellow Alert for the Visayas Grid is lifted late Monday evening.
As of 10:20 p.m., the NGCP said the yellow alert has been lifted for the Visayas grid with available capacity of 2,550MW with peak demand at 2,260MW.
Earlier, the NGCP placed the Visayas Grid under yellow alert that was implemented from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. adding that the grid only has an available capacity of 2,525 megawatts despite a peak demand of 2,480 megawatts.
"A yellow alert is issued when the operating margin is insufficient to meet the transmission grid's contingency requirement," the NGCP said. — BAP GMA News
