If you are constantly asking, ‘What’s new?’, or want to know ‘Where should we go next?’ or are thinking about the ‘Newest spot in town’, then this list is for you. Mumbai has seen a slew of new openings over the last few weeks. From cafes and wine bars to molecular gastronomy and pan-Asian delights, the city that never sleeps is now becoming the city that never stops eating. With so many new restaurants, can you blame us?
Here’s a look at the newest and tastiest offerings the city has to offer this month:
Janu by Blondie, Juhu
Janu by Blondie is a new all-day Indian café that reimagines Indian flavours through a contemporary café format. It was conceptualised by the team behind Bastian Hospitality and actor Shilpa Shetty. It was conceived as an extension of the Blondie universe with a distinctly Indian identity. Janu combines regional flavours, café-style dining, speciality beverages and retail under one roof.
Rather than replicating traditional recipes, Janu reinterprets familiar Indian flavours through contemporary café formats. Menu highlights include Raj Kachori Chaat, Palak Patta Chaat, Superfood Salad, Black Dal with Khameeri, Zaffreno Pasta, Malaiyo and Apple Jalebi. Together, these dishes move between chaat, comfort food, lighter plates and desserts, allowing guests to drop in for a snack or stay for a complete meal.
Pique Bombay, Horniman Circle
Wine is usually reserved for an occasion, not something enjoyed just because. Pique, founded by Sasha Goenka, wants to change this with a neighbourhood wine bar that makes it feel social and completely uncomplicated. Pique’s wine list runs to roughly 12 wines by the glass and 24 by the bottle, refreshed monthly, with each label offering something different to cozy down and discover.
The food follows the same philosophy. Crafted by Sasha herself alongside Chef Aditya Raghavan — a physicist-turned-chef and modern cheesemaker. The menu celebrates European flavours and technique with produce that is entirely Indian. It includes comforting classics, bar snacks, hearty sandwiches, vibrant small plates and timeless desserts, built to encourage lingering meals and shared tables.
Yum Yum Cha, Lower Parel
After its tremendous success in Delhi, Yum Yum Cha has come to Phoenix Palladium, Mumbai. It is bringing authentic Asian flavours, playful innovation, and immersive design to the city. It is inspired by the traditional culture of Yum Cha dining and celebrates the artistry of handcrafted dim sum and sushi.
At the heart of the Yum Yum Cha experience is its signature “Little Bundles of Joy” and “Huge Bowls of Happiness”, a menu thoughtfully curated to showcase some of the finest Pan-Asian flavours. You can explore handcrafted dim sum, artisanal sushi and sashimi, comforting sizzling stone bowls, bubbling hot pots, and innovative small plates including Cheung Fun and Japanese pizzas, alongside the brand’s iconic mochi ice cream and playful Fun Bottles.
SpiceKlub, Babulnath
SpiceKlub by Gupta Brands is a pure vegetarian restaurant that is reimagining familiar Indian dishes through molecular gastronomy. They have launched their newest outlet in Babulnath. Guided by its philosophy of creating memorable dining experiences that appeal to all the senses, SpiceKlub seamlessly blends food science and creativity with authentic flavours and traditional cooking techniques.
The menu showcases signature creations including Pav Bhaji Fondue, Pani Puri, Naanza, Moti Paneer Makhani, Papads of India and the iconic Flower Pot Dessert, alongside handcrafted beverages, imaginative desserts from SpiceKlub Mithaas and seasonal chef specials. While the brand is best known for its inventive appetisers, beverages and desserts, its main course remains rooted in traditional Indian recipes, with many of its signature spice blends sourced from Punjab.
Tavora Smokehouse, Pali Hill
Bandra welcomes Tavora Smokehouse by Chef Nicole, a new dining destination dedicated to the craft of fire, smoke and slow cooking.
Helmed by Chef Nicole Gonsalves, a Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef with experience in Michelin-starred kitchens, including Gordon Ramsay Holdings’ Savoy Grill, Tavora Smokehouse puts meat and the art of cooking it well at the heart of its experience.
The menu explores different techniques of smoking, slow cooking and fire-led preparation, with a focus on premium cuts, bold flavours and carefully developed marinades, rubs and sauces. From meats cooked low and slow to dishes finished over fire, each plate is designed to highlight the natural flavour and texture of the ingredients.
Chef Nicole brings her international culinary experience to the menu while creating a smokehouse experience that feels contemporary and approachable. Tavora Smokehouse by Chef Nicole is ultimately about great meat, deep flavours and the craft that goes into
cooking over fire and
Wagamama, Worli
wagamama, the globally loved Pan-Asian restaurant brand, has officially opened the doors to its newest restaurant in Worli, Mumbai, marking another milestone in its India journey. Following the success of its debut outlet in Churchgate, the new restaurant brings wagamama’s signature blend of fresh, made-to-order cuisine, communal dining, and the Japanese philosophy of kaizen to one of the city’s most vibrant dining destinations.
The menu brings together globally loved favourites including Chicken Katsu Curry, Firecracker Chicken, Ramen, Gyozas and Donburi Bowls, alongside an extensive selection of vegetarian and Jain-friendly options, all prepared fresh to order using quality ingredients.
Bringing together fresh, made-to-order dishes, bold Pan-Asian flavours and wagamama’s signature ramen-bar heritage, the restaurant offers a vibrant dining experience that reflects the brand’s globally loved approach to casual dining.
Gaijin, Khar
Gaijin is expanding its Japanese dining experience! They have launched a dedicated Ramen Shop that transforms the restaurant’s iconic alleyway into a lively ode to Tokyo’s late-night noodle culture. Tucked away amidst neon lights, graffiti-covered shutters, and the unmistakable energy of Gaijin’s Mumbai-meets-Japan aesthetic, the new space brings movement, steam, and the comforting ritual of ramen to the heart of Khar.
Designed as an experience in itself and curated by Chef Anand Morwani, the Ramen Shop offers guests the chance to enjoy ramen in an intimate outdoor setting, inspired by the bustling noodle counters found across Japan. Alongside the full cocktail programme, a specially curated alleyway menu featuring small bites such as karaage and temaki complements the ramen offerings, making it an ideal destination for leisurely lunches and relaxed evening meals.
The Gated Community, Juhu
The Gated Community is a social dining experience built for unwinding in a city that never slows down. The 3,500+ sq. ft. space unfolds across multiple sections, from a striking marble bar and a piano-anchored dining room to a living-room-style private dining room, with no shortage of spots to settle in and make it yours.
Behind it are three of Mumbai’s most recognised hospitality names: Prashant Chaudhri, Puneet Gidwani and Nirmal Patel, bringing over 20+ years of hospitality experience.
The menu is led by Executive Chef Aashish, who draws inspiration from the founders’ travels over the past few years. From Italy’s family-run trattorias, Spain’s lively tapas bars, Japan’s tucked-away izakayas and the bold flavours of Mexico. Sharing sits at the heart of the experience, with dishes designed to be passed around the table. Signature highlights include handcrafted fresh pastas such as the Seafood Linguine, Cacio e Pepe with truffle mushroom and Basil and Broccoli Pesto with burrata, alongside the delicate Thai Steamed Fish and a selection of grills that is perfect for sharing.
The Angry Toast, Bandra
Most cafés decide what’s on the menu. Angry Toast decided what the menu deserves to be and then spent a year engineering it. Open on Waterfield Road, Bandra, this sandwich shop is built around a format that didn’t exist before: a 3-inch sandwich designed specifically for people on the move with an eggless brioche bread that holds it together. It took twelve months to develop and is optimised for crunch, structure, and the drama of a first bite.
In 450 square feet, Angry Toast has installed a micro roastery and the coffee program is led by Suhas Dwarkanath, a World Barista Championship contender and the first Indian to break into the global Top 12. On the coffee menu are firsts you won’t find elsewhere in the city – a Taro Latte, a Pandan Latte, and a true Vietnamese Eggnog Coffee.
The menu spans veg and non-veg options like Mumbai toastie, paneer tikka, spinach and ricotta, olive and mushroom, basil pesto burrata, Anda ghotala, jerk chicken, fluffy egg, and more. The honey butter toast is a highlight and is perfectly made to satisfy your sweet cravings.
