Marra PL. Lanot has passed away on Sunday, August 16, at age 82. The cause of her death has not been disclosed.
On social media the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) mourned the passing of its former long time board member, describing her as "a multi-awarded titan of Philippine literature, journalist, and advocate of culture and the arts."
According to MRTCB, Lanot was board member of the organization from President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's time to President Benigno Aquino III's administration, during which she championed "gender sensivity, artistic integrity, and media consumption."
The wife of journalist Jose 'Pete' Lacaba, she is survived by her husband, her son Kris, three grandchildren, and two siblings.
