Actor, singer and lyricist Piyush Mishra has joined the protesting JPSC-JSSC aspirants in Ranchi, extending his support to students demanding action over alleged irregularities and changes in the recruitment examination system. Mishra said he decided to visit the protest after watching interviews of the aspirants and seeing the distress they were going through.
The actor also performed his popular song Aarambh Hai Prachand at the protest site, with a video of the moment surfacing online.
Piyush Mishra Explains Why He Joined Ranchi Protest
Speaking to the media after meeting the aspirants, Mishra said there was no motive behind his visit beyond standing with the students. He revealed that their interviews had prompted him to travel to the protest site.
“I did not come to extend my support for any other reason. I watched interviews with some of the students. I saw the pain and suffering in their eyes, and I saw their tears. That was enough for me,” he said, as quoted by ANI.

Mishra also spoke about his affection for young audiences, pointing out that much of his work as an actor and musician reaches them. He said his team had already tried to help the protesters with essential supplies and financial assistance.
“I like young people. I sing for you and act for you, so I came here,” Mishra said. “Apart from this, we have already provided assistance in the form of food, tarpaulins, and whatever financial help we could offer. We are doing whatever is within our capacity.”

Mishra’s visit also saw him turn to music. In a video from the demonstration, he can be seen singing Aarambh Hai Prachand, one of his best-known compositions.

The song featured in Anurag Kashyap’s 2009 film Gulaal. Written, composed and sung by Mishra, it has over the years become closely associated with themes of defiance, resistance and challenging injustice.
Ankur R Pathak Also Backs Aspirants
Singer-composer Ankur R Pathak also joined the demonstration on Friday and urged others to stand with the protesting students.
Highlighting what is at stake for the aspirants, Pathak said many of them could eventually occupy important positions in public service and politics.
“In future, these students will become IAS, IPS, CM, MLA… If we don’t come here today, what will we tell our children? Our future? I urge everyone who is hearing and watching me today to come here,” he told ANI.
JPSC-JSSC aspirants have been protesting in Ranchi while raising concerns over alleged irregularities and changes related to recruitment examinations. Mishra’s appearance has now brought further attention to the demonstration, with his performance of Aarambh Hai Prachand emerging as one of the prominent moments from the protest.
